Beyond Borders: Embracing Humanity in our Diversity
Lately, I've been considering the state of our world, particularly in the challenges faced in finding connection in what’s meant to be a modern and interconnected society.
Vibrant urban spaces are made to globalize and bring us together, through convenience and accessibility. Yet, it's so common to feel alone in a big city. As we ride out of the pandemic, Zoom culture has changed the way we work and interact. In a way, these shifts have made us more connected and yet paradoxically disconnected than ever. I’m seeing a rising desire for community and genuine interconnectedness, and it totally makes sense!
With social media so often pushing us to choose sides and argue, it seems that our differences are magnified. Instead of seeking common ground, we find ourselves looking for feuds and disagreements. It's time to turn off the megaphone, step away from the noise, and rediscover the beauty of human connection–in what we share.
Getting off the Conveyor Belt: Rethinking Success and Empowerment
Lately, I've been contemplating the societal expectations surrounding success and the delicate balance between work and family. These reflections have led me to question the conventional narrative and ponder alternative paths to fulfillment.
In the relentless pursuit of success, society often imposes a predefined conveyor belt of expectations upon us. As we grow older, we become acutely aware that time is a precious and finite resource. The older I get, the less patience I have for triviality. What has become increasingly clear is that the most crucial aspect of life revolves around relationships—with family, friends, and colleagues.
In our quest for success, we may find ourselves trapped in the rat race, leading to dissatisfaction among even the most accomplished individuals. More money doesn't always mean more happiness. In fact, it may often bring forth new challenges like a dissolution of personal values and meaningful connections.
The Power of Privacy: Why I Keep My Aspirations Close and Relationships Closer
As we kick off the new year, we may be called to reflect and commit to new growth. Which reminds me why I keep my circle small and put my relationships ahead of success.
With social media and the internet dominating so much of our daily lives, I've observed a shift in the way we approach and share our goals. In the past, I used to be vocal about my aspirations on various platforms. I thought why not? I might find support and more accountability through it.
However, in my experience I’ve learned it can be much more beneficial to share selectively.
